Until 1967, Norrmalmstorg was an important hub for the tram traffic in Stockholm. The square is today the start and the end stop for the heritage tramline Djurgårdslinjen (7N).
Norrmalmstorg was formerly called Packartorget until 1853. At Packartorget there was a warehouse where all the fish that were going to be imported to the city must first be inspected and repackaged. By order of Karl XIV Johan, the smelly Katthavet (Packartorgsviken) was filled in the 1840s. Berzelii Park was later built on the site, which was inaugurated in 1858. When the square was given the name Norrmalmstorg, the name was reused from the area that is today Gustav Adolf square.

Until the 1850s, Ladugårdslandet and Blasieholmen were connected here through Nybron, which ran between today's Nybrogatan and Arsenalsgatan. Parts of the fence still remains today and surround the Berzelii park next to Nybroviken.

Styrmansgatan is located on Strandvägen. The name Styrmansgatan derives from adjacent neighborhoods, named in the 1640s which refers to shipping and seafarers. Among these is the Styrmannen neighborhood, which probably gave rise to the name. The author August Blanche has described Styrmansgatan as one of the desolate streets within Ladugårdslands parish.

The stop is named after Djurgårdsbron (The Djurgården Bridge), which was completed just in time for the Stockholm Exhibition in 1897. The bridge was built by Bergsund's mechanical workshop on Södermalm in 1896. Next to the bridge supports are four columns of granite, crowned by the four Old Norse gods Heimdal, Frigg, Freja and Tor. The first bridge on the site was built in 1661 and on map from 1696 the passage is marked for the first time.

At the stop Skansen is one of Sweden's largest open-air museums and zoos.
The name Skansen derives from the skansen (the Sconce) that Karl XIV Johan had built for his son Oskar I, to use it as a playground. Since 1 July 1994, Skansen has been a state foundation and is under the Ministry of Culture. At Skansen there are today about 140 buildings from Scandinavia, the oldest of which is Vastveitloftet from the 14th century. Sweden's National Day on June 6 is celebrated every year at Skansen in the presence of H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf and the family.

The stop Waldemarsudde is located at Ryssviken on Djurgården and is the final stop on the line.
Just next to the stop is Prince Eugene's Waldemarsudde, which is an esteemed art museum, located in a beautiful flower and sculpture park. A little east of Prince Eugene's villa is Waldemarsudde's oil mill from 1784, which was formerly used to produce linseed oil. It is a so-called "Dutch mill" where only the roof needs to be turned to catch the wind. The mill is one of five remaining of its kind in the world, which makes it an industrial historical rarity.

Café tram
Come and have a drink with us at our popular cafetram!
On the tram you can order coffee, tea, chocolate, soft drinks and any freshly baked bread as you roll through town.
The cafétram runs from Norrmalmstorg to Waldemarsudde about one or two an hour on Saturdays and Sundays.
NOTE! The cafétram has a break and will return next year 2021.

Mission
Our goal is to show historical trams from different time periods in Stockholm's 150-year tram history. Our carriages function as an appreciated means of transport between City and Djurgården, but above all they give travelers an experience of what it was like to transport themselves in the city during the last century.
Vision
The Djurgårdlinjen vision is to continue to be able to show historic trams in operation with the tram hall at Djurgården (Alkärret) as a base. In the long term, when the tram extension to Ropsten is built, the modern carriages will for the most part be placed in the large Aga depot on Lidingö, which has already been built to accommodate these.

The trams
We have trams that ran on the streets of Stockholm as early as the 1910s. Our newest tram is from the 1960s. We also have trams from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. The trams have been selected to reflect different eras in Stockholms tramway history. Which era is your favorite?
